Hi there , as per many people and many post i’m suffering from a internal server error when ever trying to log into the admin panel…. however it’s ONLY on my laptop

    History:
    1. Two weeks ago created my first wordpress site
    2. It’s hosted by Ipage
    3. It has only three or four plugins installed.
    4. theme is from live composer
    5. Can log in every single time without error on my wife’s laptop using both her and my user names
    6. error occurs regardless of who i’m logging in as “on my laptop”
    7. Everytime i go to ipage support they can log in instantly ( same as my wife) but strangely enough i can then log in also via my laptop. They then say.. “it’s not broken so we can fix what’s not broken” shortly after closing ipage chat the issue re appears.
8 every now and then i can log in but in the last two days that’s been fairly rare.
    9. happens in chrome and error 500 in explorer

      What i’ve tried:

    1. Have spent probably 15 hours so far trying various things from various websites
    2. enabling debug log in config file doesnt show any log file
    3. increased php memory via cpanel
    4. uninstalled all plugins
    5. uninstalled themes
    6. created new .htaccess file
    7. uploaded new admin and includes folders
    8. disabeled firewall
    9. cleared cookies and cache so many times for all browsers that i’m almost wearing the keyboard out.
    10. Have used ccleaner to clean up PC files
    11. Turned PC on and off again ( IT favorite)

I’m getting very near to throwing my laptop out and drinking heavily. Would very much appreciate some suggestions why this error seems to be ONLY relevant to my laptop. Am i missing something simple ?

Hi lazandsue, & welcome. Sorry for questions, but:
    1) Might we have a site url?
    2) Can the homepage of the site be reached successfully via your laptop?
    3) Have you tried Chrome’s or Explorer’s developer tools to see if there are any helpful error messages there?
    4) Have you tried wp-login.php as well as wp-admin, & are the results identical?

Hi jackie thanks for the reply

Currently the site isn’t live but it’s at https://www.fulltimecaravanning.com.au

The https://www.fulltimecaravanning.com.au does bring up the work in progress page which i can always see

haven’t tried #3 but will look into it along with #4

5 minutes after sending the original post above it magically logged me in, so i’m currently doing what i can before it locks me out again. There seems to be no pattern to it that i can see.

lazandsue, 1 thing you might try is to disable all Chrome extensions & see if that helps. Then you can reenable them 1 by 1 & log in again until you get shut down. But man I hate these intermittent kinds of problems! You never know when they’re solved. They’re what drive my cosmetologist nuts cuz I tend to pull out hair indiscriminantly when faced w/these sorts of difficulties.

Update… i disabled chrome extensions and took screen shots of chrome developer screen as suggested, then i talked to ipage again and showed them the screen shots. The support tech said that it looked like it could be something to do with akamai so he disabled it. Not sure i see the relevance to that and the fact it only affected my PC but…. it’s been almost 24 hours and no internal error screen or further issues yet.

Will mark this resolved in the next day or so if all is well ??

    thanks for replying jackie

Been good for a couple of days since Ipage disabled Akamai and considering i had the issue for 23 of 24 hours each day for a week i’m calling it resolved ??
