• Hi, just discovered this great plugin, and loving getting to grips with it.

I’ve noticed a minor gremlin, though I think this is native to WP when text is not within the_content or the_excerpt…

Let’s say I have a page with some content and I select “Page Builder” in the page edit screen. I’m asked “Would you like to copy this editor’s existing content to Page Builder?” and click Ok.

So, the text is now inside a widget. In a perfect world the text should look exactly the same, but it doesn’t. Apostrophes are no longer formatted “rich” (with a little flick) – instead they’re output “straight” – i.e. unformatted, and there are other minor changes (three dots become a single ellipsis for example).

Is there an easy way to get this more consistent, so that text inside the page builder widgets is formatted as it would be output were it directly inside the_content?

    Hi @aljuk

    Thanks for reaching out.

I’m don’t have a lot of experience with character types but I believe what you’re seeing is actually a correction. Try this as a test, create a new page and from scratch, no copy paste, type a sentence with an apostrophe and full stops etc. I think you’ll find that the formatting there is the formatting you’re seeing in Page Builder. I believe the rich text characters are from pasting from a Word document or similar. I could be wrong, try it out.

If I’m right, then instead of moving your content over automatically just copy paste it over into the Visual tab of the SiteOrigin Editor widget and the formatting should then remain.
