slim down core – good for SEO
-
Hello,
I know it has been an issue for many of us for a while, but I do not really know, why it hasn’t been targeted at all yet, as I keep waiting for this to happen:
The core is bloated with many functions which have to be manually turned off by editing functions.php – I know, some of them are part of being a blog, but most of them are never needed, so perhaps it would be a good idea to have an opt-in button somewhere in the backend than to manually turn them off:
wlwmanifest, xmlrpc, emoji,
Link: “<https://www.example.com/wp-json/>; rel=”https://api.w.org/””<link rel=”alternate” type=”application/json+oembed”…
<link rel=”alternate” type=”text/xml+oembed”
<meta name=”generator” content=”WordPress 4.5.2″Slimming down the core will eventually make it faster to load. It will lessen the internal function calls and therefore raise SEO value, since the page is loaded faster.
