This is a different problem from the one I entered last week.

I am seeing that the SlimStat entries are sorted by username/IP-address/session.

It appears that when two different users login (one after the other) to WordPress from the same IP-address (same session), these stats are displayed under a single username/IP-address and are not shown as separate users.

At the same time, it appears that, when I search the log entries for a specific username, I am seeing the correct log entries.

This seems to imply that log entries are sorted by IP-address (or session) and that the current (or most recent) username is shown for all these log entries.

The desired behavior would be to show which log entries are associated with which user that are accessing WordPress from the same IP-address or session.

    Do you follow my explanation?

It appears that the username field feature was added later and wasn’t tested when multiple users access WP from the same IP-address/session.

    Best regards,

    Douglas

    To make it more clear:

The stats create a banner for each group of stats. The banner feature is nice.

There appears to be a banner for each IP-address/session.

A desired behavior should be, however, that when multiple users exist within a single IP-address/session, there should be a banner for each user.

Otherwise, the banner can be very misleading. It makes one think that all the entries under a particle banner correspond to a specific user. Which is not always true. Currently there can be multiple users for a single banner. This is very confusing.

Great job, though. I love SlimStat.

    Douglas,

you make a very good point, not sure why this hasn’t come up before, as the activity log has been grouping views by IP address for many years now. I will forward your request to the developer so that we can implement it in Slimstat.

    Thank you,
    Jason

Admittedly, the situation that different users have the same IP-address is, in most contexts, extremely rare. But in some specific circumstances, where the users are sharing computers (like in schools), it can be very common.

    Agreed.
