• I decided to use this plugin because I thought it would be the most expeditious way to transfer two small sites to temporary domains and test them before switching my DNS. Unfortunately there are no progress messages and the process is ridiculously SLOW. SG support told me the process speed was dependent on the network connection from the old host. At of the time of this review, I am transferring a very small site (50 MB) and it has been 3.5 hours.

I am going to let this migration finish but will transfer the second site on my own. This is ludicrous!

UPDATE: It’s been 11 hours and its still running!

    Hello @bigmoxy,

Usually migrations of such small websites are completed in couple of minutes. In some cases there are remote hosting/website restrictions or issues causing such behaviour.

Could you please provide us with your website URL, so we can check the case in details.

    Best Regards,

    Elena

After 6 days do you realistically think I have done nothing? I have long given up on SiteGround and effortlessly switched to another provider.

For the record, after 12 hours I contacted SG support and they told me to cancel the migration and start over. How ridiculous!

We monitor support threads and answer them within a business day. There isn’t one from you but the current review. In any case, best of luck with your project.
