Slow blog. How to optimize speed?

    It takes quite a while to load a webpage, and that is frustrating. Anything I can do to speed it up?

    I already use wp-super cache. And I’ve deleted all unnecessary plugins.

    The only thing I could change is Register Plus the plugin. Register Plus allows people to set up their own passwords upon signing up.Does anyone know of an alternative that doesn’t take up as much resources?

  • The huge background picture is probably eating bandwidth… if you made it a simple/repeating backgournd it would probably load up a lot faster. Having a random background getting loaded up in the beggining could be slowing you down too. Maybe if you only make one background it might work better.

    Don’t use freehostia, their speed is not the best to say it nicely.
