When I delete an event from the Google calendar the plugin still shows that deleted event, but only in List mode and not in Grid mode? The Grid mode is still showing the deleted event hours after it was deleted. Yes, I have tried clearing the plugin cache and the website cache and the browser cache.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

With respect to the issue here, this would likely be caused by the calendar caching. I would recommend that you also clear your calendar cache. Here is a doc on how to go about this: https://docs.simplecalendar.io/how-to-clear-calendar-cache/ . Also please try viewing the calendar in a different browser.

Let us know how it goes.

    Kind Regards

Thanks for getting back so promptly.  I did attempt to clear all the caches but you just opened up a question.  I was clicking on the Clear Cache link in the calendars list:

In fact, you can see two Clear Cache links.  I found it odd that I could click on the link and it seemed to recognize the click but did not give a confirmation.  Now you have showed me the Clear Cache on the edit page, which is clearer but there is still no response.

So, what are the 2 Clear Cache links in the calendars list supposed to do and should there be a response to Clear Cache in the edit page?

    Hi there,

Thanks for keeping in touch with us.

In regards to your question here, the two cache links (the one of the calendars list and the one on calendar edit screen) have the same intended functionality. If you have another clear cache link in your calendar list, it likely could be from a Caching plugin that you may have in place.

Upon clicking the link within the calendar list next to the calendar, you should see the page reload. On the other hand, upon clicking the clear cache button on the calendar edit screen, you should notice a spinning icon that is then hidden from view once the cache is cleared.

I hope this answers your question here.

    Kind Regards

    Hi John,

As I said initially ”?I have tried clearing the plugin cache and the website cache and the browser cache” as well as trying to clear the calendar caches.

The screen shot I sent shows that, when you hover to see the Edit | Quick Edit etc in the Calendars list, that there are 2 Clear Cache links: Edit?|?Quick?Edit?|?Trash?|?View?|?Clone?|?Clear Cache?|?Clear Cache. Just looks odd. If I click on the first one I see a spinner in the browser tab but nothing else. If I click on the second one I see nothing at all.

If I click on the Clear Cache button on the edit page I do see the spinner clearly. I just tested a change on a calendar event and both the 12 month List calendar and the Month Grid calendar picked it up quite quickly .

Then I do the same thing and it hadn’t synced up in 10 minutes. I cleared the caches again and it took a 2 or 3 of minutes but it did sync up.

So, I keep clearing the plugin cache with variant results. I could try re-installing if I wouldn’t lose the calendar settings?

And it seems I have to clear the cache every time?

    Hi there,

Thanks for keeping in touch with us.

In this case, do you have a caching plugin in your site? If so, this would explain why you have a second clear cache link. This is something that would be added your cache plugin.

About the time it takes for the right display to be reflected, again if you have a caching plugin in place, this would likely influence the time taken to correctly fetch events. Also, if your host has implemented caching on their end, then this would again influence how long it takes to fetch the correct events.

Regarding the fact that that you need to clear your cache every time, yes this is so if you are editing events in your Google Calendar. In addition, you also need to adjust your refresh interval to a lower time in your advanced settings within the calendar illustrated here: https://prnt.sc/lpOiSvgjrrFG .

    I hope this information helps.

    Kind Regards

As I said in the initial post “I have tried clearing the plugin cache and the website cache and the browser cache”. The first of the ?‘clear cache links’ is working but the second one doesn’t seem to do anything. Both of them are always there, even with all caches turned off. Doesn’t bother me, just looks odd.

The clearing cache seems to be working ok consistently now. The only change I made was to refresh the calendar after 1 hour instead of 2. I presume that has nothing to do with the manual clearing of the cache but it has been working well since I made that change.

Many thanks for all your help and information.

    Hi there,

Thanks for keeping in touch with us.

In this case, there should only be a single “clear cache” link within the Calendars segment from the dashboard. If you have a cache plugin in your site then, some cache plugins add “clear cache” links on posts, pages and other custom post types, which explain why you would have a case where you see two similar “clear cache” links. The second clear cache plugin from the cache plugin will not work in clearing the calendars’ cache, which again explains why it may not be working on your end.

I’m however glad to hear that the issue here is now resolved. Please feel free to reach out once again in case of any questions.

    Kind Regards
