Slow call to hosting

  • Hi there.
    I am experiencing a weird problem with my website from the very first moment I had access to it. I chose the best hosting company as reviwers say here in Spain, and have a decent capacity space, but the first time I got to the web (It was all empty, only with wp and the default theme installed) it took about 15 seconds to load the web. I tested it on Google Insights and the score was great, but ocasionally the web seemed to have an issue calling the server and when these seconds passed, it was loaded inmediately. I thout it was normal since the site was empty, but as I load some content on it, the trouble continued.
    I have tested it in different browsers, devices, IPs,internet connections, with empty cache, no cookies, etc and the problem only happens sometimes. But when it happens, it takes about 10 or 15 seconds to load and suddenly it loads automaticly. Now that I’m developing the structure, I have installed the Flatsome theme and the problem continues.

    I reported it to the hosting provider (Raiola, in case someone knows them) and they asure me everything is ok and that they meassure the load time and it’s so great, but I keep having this issue every now and then, even if the score in Google Insights or Pingdoom Tools is quite good.

    I’m afraid it can be related to the call to the hosting, but I have no idea if it’s something that can ve solved or if it’s something i’m experiencing on all the devices I have tested.

    If it comes and goes, however, it could be due to a busy server or some network congestion. To minimize server impact you could use Cloudflare or some other CDN as well as adding a caching plugin to minimize server load.

    fyi it loaded *super* fast here in Canada.
    No latency at all.

    Maybe it’s your own internet connection ??
    Or, maybe high traffic load times on your shared server?
    The site throws no errors in the console, and you are only making one external call out to load Google fonts.

    Looks good to me.

    thanks both for your help. Would it be nonsense if I asked the provider to move the web to another hosting? I have waited some days and it’s still happening.

    Please do not ping people in your replies. Anyhow, it wouldn’t hurt to see if changing servers would help.
