    Hi

I’ve been using your plugin for a while, and it all works great; nevertheless, I realised that when used along with “Additional Variation Images Gallery For WooCommerce”, the waiting time for the webpage to load increases up to 30s!

The problem is solved either deactivating “Smush” or “Additional Variation Images Gallery For WooCommerce”, so I have opened this issue to check if you can help me with this problem.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi @alexisteleco

I hope you’re well today and thank you for reporting this!

I tried to replicate the problem on my test site but so far I wasn’t able to. The behavior that you described suggests that there might be some sort of a conflict but it may be related to yet another factor (like the active theme or yet another plugin in addition to these two or to some specific aspect of configuration).

I’m not familiar with the “Additional Variation Images Gallery for WooCommerce” plugin so I only used it in default configuration. Is there any specific setting I could use (in this plugin or in Smush) to replicate this?

Is it the “overall” loading time that increases or on some specific pages (e.g product listing or a single product page)?

What happens if you keep both plugins active but switch temporarily to default Twenty Twenty-One theme?

    Let us know, please.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Hi Adam,

Both plugins are with either recommended or default settings, and I also tried with completely default settings and it happens the same.

The overall time is being affected, not one page in particular.

With both plugins (plus WooCommerce) and the default Twenty Twenty-One theme, it has the same behaviour. Find screenshot of timing and visualisation of the page under those conditions.

    Hi again Adam,

This option was the culprit: https://i.imgur.com/A8VynqT.png
As soon as it was disabled, all went to normal.

Can you explain why this is happening?

    Hi @alexisteleco

    Thank you for the update.

It is weird, this option would only trigger the Smush process on the image upload, if the Additional Variation Images Gallery for WooCommerce doesn’t upload an image to WP it shouldn’t trigger the Smush on upload.

Could you confirm if this is the plugin that you are using https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woo-variation-gallery/ ?

We will try to replicate the problem.
    Best Regards

    Hello @sterndata,

I’m sorry for the delay on our side, we didn’t get the notifcation about the new replies for this post.

I’ve tested on my site Smush with this Additional Variation Images Gallery and I wasn’t able to replicate the problem with site loading slowly.

Can you tell us who is your hosting provider and what are memory limits for your site?

    kind regards,
    Kasia

I am already trying to resolve it with Pawel.
He said that he had a report similar to mine and that he would say something more in a short period of time on November 28th
