• Hi!

    Our website has recently start to have a terrible load time, 7-10 sec!!!

    A couple of weeks ago it went on about 3 sec.

    Ive spoken to dreamhost and we have installed a VPS on 400mb ram because we were apparently eating up all the ram. But it did not make a difference.

    We then installed wp super cache and it did speed up the home page… but the problem still remains on the rest of the website.

    And even if the WSC helps sped up the website, something has slowed it down a lot and we would appreciate all help we can get to figure out what it is.

    We did install a prefetched plugin last week and might be that which made it all slow, but with it now uninstalled its still slow.

    Help!

    btw… im ok with wordpress and everything… not an expert ??

    and it would also be good if i posted the link ??

    Aaah, Dreamhost, sending me emails to tell I had reached the VPS memory limit and I should upgrade, while my VPS account had been unused for two months, and I had, those two months ago, removed all domains from their hosting. Memories of 2010.

    Now, let me say it, even on TERRIBLE hosting (which Dreamhost isn’t, they have good reputation), such waiting times are simply not normal. Not forgivable. They’re an actual issue, caused by something, they’re not normal things;

    Did you try simply reinstalling your blog manually, removing the wp-includes and wp-admin folders, as well as every file present in the root folder in which these two folders are shown save wp-config.php, and then replacing them with the equivalents offered by a freshly downloaded wordpress.zip copy from www.ads-software.com ?

    Or at least, did you try your blog with zero plugins activated on it, and one of the twenty-something default themes ?

    No weird stuff in your site’s .htaccess, if there is one ?
