I have been trying to speed up load time of my website. I am using gtmetrix to see what is taking time to load and have noticed a storefront font that take somewhere between 500ms to 1.5 seconds to load. Is there a way to reduce its load time. The font is

    storefront/assets/fonts/fa-solid-900.woff2

  • Hi there,

You could consider using caching/minification plugins to help with that; The font itself though is pretty important as it’s an iconography font used for icons on the site across multiple browsers.

Do you have a direct link to the GTMetrix report?

Hello @riaanknoetze thanks for the reply. Here is the link – https://gtmetrix.com/reports/oldbookdepot.in/WbiBJZX8/

In this report the fonts are taking 400 ms. Sometimes it takes over 1.5 seconds.

Google Pagespeed suggested that I should preload these fonts. Any idea how to do that?

    Hi @mayank29gupta,

I’m sorry we missed your last post. Have you been able to resolve this issue?

If not, I recommend reading this guide that explains a bit more about how to interpret site speed measuring tools like Google PageSpeed Insights and how to improve your site’s performance: https://wordpress.com/support/site-speed/

I tried to open the GTMetrix report you shared but it seems like that has now been deleted.

    Hi again,

I hope you managed to boost site’s performance if still needed. We haven’t heard back from you for a while, so I’m going to mark this post as resolved. If you have any further questions or need additional help with the Storefront theme, please start a new thread and we’ll be able to help you out there. Thanks!
