• I updated my Link Library plugin to version 5.8.8.4 and noticed a decrease in WordPress performance. When I click a post/page the site takes several seconds to load. When I deactivated the plugin the post/page(s) responded and loaded instantly. When I reverted back to version 5.8.4.3 the post/page(s) again responded instantly.

Some change between versions has caused a dramatic change in page load response time.

  • We are running into similar issues. When we update past our current version, 5.8.7.1, it becomes incredibly slow.

Our WordPress Install is a bitnami VM, fully patched to latest version of WP. When we have tried this and it didn’t work, we just pulled back to a previous snapshot.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot and solve this?

    Thanks!

The first thing to do is to enable debug mode under the plugin’s General Settings section. This will add hidden HTML comments in your page output, which including timing information showing how long each Link Library is taking to generate each of the sections it displays.

Once you have that information, first confirm that it looks like Link Library is taking a lot of time to run, then let me know in which section is it taking a lot of time.
