Since I moved to 1.3 Alpha 5, editing existing posts (posts with an image included) is so unbelievable slow ! Is this because of the new Enclosure feature ?
If it is, can I shut it off ? Saving a post is taking 60 seconds, which is too much for people with my kind of patience …

It might prove fruitful to search the forum for an issue before posting a new thread. As I recall, this has been asked and answered previously.

Well I’m sorry but the thread you probably are referring too, is not solving my problem. So I thought I could ask for help here.

Might be helpful to post what steps you took from whatever thread you found so others don’t offer advice you have already tried,

If you are doing ping/trackbacks of any URLs in your posts, this can slow down your posting time significantly.

And as per the “other thread” one would need to disable that option.

OK here is some more info:
    MySQL version 4.0.18
    PHP version : 4.3.6
    My webhost : https://www.unoeuro.com
(Let me just state that there hasn’t been any trouble with performance in the 1.2.1 version I was running before. And there isn’t any performance issue in other things I am running on my website (f.x. my Coppermine gallery)
The only thing I did was editing an existing post in WordPress, which takes ages to save.
I did disable all the possible ping/trackback options in WordPress already.

There was a discussion on this on the mailing list the other day. It seems like its a problem with enclosures, which, if I remember correctly, probably has something to do with trying to pingback the picture. Disabling pingbacks doesn’t have much of an effect against this. It should be updated in one of the nightlies. I’ll check to see if theres a report of this in mosquito.

    Hi Ryan
Thanks for your kind answer ! Finally an answer I can use! I will keep an eye on the nightlies (and upgrade) and will check if the problem disappears. I guess I just have to be patient.

There is a report in, but not taken care of. I’m going to try and take a look at it in the next week or so and see if we can get a resolution to this.

^^ that was me by the way, I was in class and didn’t realize I wasn’t logged in when I posted that.

I sat down to take a look at it this afternoon and couldn’t notice anything with enclosures. do you have a post you can reference to so that I can see this? I’ve added enclosured of all supported types and thats working correctly. I’ve tried it with an img tag in the post, edited it, and it updated quick. I haven’t been able to recreate the slowness at all on my site.

Am I still the only one having this problem ?
When posting WordPress creates an entry in Custom fields when I have included an image, and it is very slow when posting.
