• We are the new developers of this site (The live site is EZClaim.com), and the previous developer had installed your plugin.

Having a bit of experience with WP-Rocket, we added it to the site (as well a couple of other non-cache-related plugins).

The client mentioned to us that saving simple posts took a long time (45-60 seconds), and sometimes they received a 502 timeout error. (We contacted WPEngine to find out if it was their server, and they said there is some else ‘blocking’ the requests).

So, we did a lot of plugin deactivation and it looks like your “Proxy Cache Purge” is the ‘culprit’.

So, the question is, d you think the previous developer used your plugin to help them with the previous hoster (“Pair Networks”) which also used “Varnish” and a ‘proprietary’ cache?

What functionality would we be losing if we removed your plugin?

Thanks for your time and effort on this.

Based on the link in your post (it’s hidden, don’t worry) I would remove the plugin and reach out to the host asking about what cache plugin (if any) needs to be used. If you’re not using Varnish, which I don’t think you are now (the curl didn’t say Varnish — you can check curl -I URL and see for yourself), you don’t need the plugin, and it’s probably timing out because the Varnish purge is failing ??

    Ipstenu,

    Thanks for your quick response.

    The “live” site is ezclaim.com

WPEngine says they have a ‘proprietary cache (which, reading into it, it looks like they also use Varnish). [ Is there a way to check that out? ].

Is there a way to check out if your plugin is ‘restricting’ something with WPEngine’s cache?

    Thanks for your help.

    Mark
