  • Hi @marco-raaphorst,

Thanks for taking a moment to feed back on this, though sorry to hear you found Yahoo’s Smush.it service to be unfeasible for you. The plugin does rely entirely on that service, it’s just built to easily facilitate use of it.

We’re all ears and would love to discuss any way you think the plugin could better handle things. Is that something you’d be open to?

Yes, let me know what you’re thinking about doing. Liked the plugin for what it does but since it’s so super slow I simply can’t use it.

    Hi @marco-raaphorst,

Thanks so much for your reply, we’d love to look into what exactly you’re finding slow. Could you let us know more detail about that? Is it Yahoo’s service itself? Or is the plugin itself stalling at some point?

    Thanks!

Not sure, when I add a picture to the media librairy it keeps on loading for like minutes sometimes. After a few problems like that I finally disabled it and now uploading images is as fast as ever before.

    Hi @marco-raaphorst,

Thanks for clarifying that. You can actually disable the auto-smushing feature here: yoursite.com/wp-admin/upload.php?page=wp-smushit-bulk

There’s a “Smush images on upload” option, you can set that to “Do not process on upload”.

That way you could then just manually smush images where needed.

You could also set the timeout lower as well, this could help it to more quickly stop the auto-smush process.

You can enable debugging there to help find some clues about why it’s stalling.

If you’d like to create a new support ticket here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wp-smushit

We’ll gladly go through all that with you. We really would like to ensure that’s all sorted for you. ??

    How’s that sound?

Aha, thanks. For me it would only work if it would do that on upload. Things need to be simple for me. At the moment I will optimize the files myself when exporting them on my computer. That works great.
