SLOW submission

    I love the features of Forminator Forms. I’ve tried a lot of different forms and it has risen to the top.

    However the Forminator form submission, regardless of the complexity of the form, takes a full 18-20 seconds to finally confirm success. This is too long for the web in this day and age.

    I’ve tried different SMTP settings, both the host’s and Google’s thinking submission was hung up at the emailer. But then I tried a couple other popular WP form plugins and they both submitted just fine… within 4-6 seconds… or what I’d consider tolerance for a form submission.

    Before I bail out on Forminator, what if any settings can improve the exceedingly SLOW form submission?

    I hope you are doing well.

    The slow submission can be caused by different situations, so we will need to first run some testing to understand why it is happening.

    To make sure we are on the same page, is the issue happening when you use the SMTP, how fast does it go when you don’t use it at all and let the wp_mail() ( regular WordPress email module ) ?

    Could you also export your form https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#import-export and share it using Google Drive or pastebin.com?

    I made a couple of tests using my form but the ajax requests took around 2-3s

    My apologies, Patrick. Let me retract my original statement: “I’ve tried different SMTP settings, both the host’s and Google’s“.

    After further investigation, my Google SMTP settings were FAILING. Thus my SMTP plugin was using the fall-back SMTP settings of the host. The host’s SMTP emailer is still slow. However, when I re-configured the Google SMTP settings correctly the form submitted in 3-4 seconds!

    So I’ve isolated the issue to the host’s SMTP emailer. (The default WP_mail has never worked on this host either). Yes… I’m looking into different hosting.

    Again, I’ve tried many different form plugins and Forminator’s options and simplicity are the best. Thanks for a great plugin and thanks for your help!
