• Hello.

I am currently very limited while trying to edit while I have any plugins active. All pages on my site edit like normal when all plugins are deactivated. This happens on all pages. As soon as I activate one or all plugins I use (which is 3), the problems happen. Here is a few specific issues.

*Main (home page) Nothin at all works with plugins active. Nor the visual or text of the site will load. All I see is a white editing area. Tabs on the screen do not work either (screen options or help.)

*When trying to edit other pages, they will load either the visual or text option very slow (usually a minute or more.) However, I am unable to toggle between visual or text editing and the other tabs do not work either.

The 3 plugins I use are podpress, tiny MCE advanced, and wordpress back up.
I have tried many different deletes and reloads of all plugins. The error occurs the same no matter if one, two, or all three are active. It doesn’t matter

I have reinstalled wp version4.4.1 multiple times. My theme is current.

I have read many threads and tried many other troubleshooting tips.

I have tried on various computers as well.

Im at a total loss in what to do next.

    Thanks, Rob – website https://www.churchofchrist-bridgeport.com/

  • Hi, Rob. Well, as a pastor’s wife, I simply cannot stand by & have a church website malfunctioning. I do apologize for the slow response–sometimes, as volunteers, life kind of gets in the way of being able to respond as quickly as we’d like.

Could you please switch to a default theme, i.e. 2015, for example, & see if this issue still persists?

If not, we’ve got other magic tricks up our sleeve, but let’s see if this resolves the issue.

Have a good rest of your weekend.

Hello. Thanks for the reply. I have narrowed down the issue to the podpress plugin. I have version 7.6. When that plugin is disabled, all websites edit and toggle as normal.

Rob, I think PodPress hasn’t been updated for awhile now, & is therefore likely incompatible w/new WordPress coding standards, not to mention that it may well contain security vulnerabilities. Other podcast plugins you might wish to consider are Blubrry, Podlove, & Seriously Simple Podcasting, in no particular order & given w/no endorsements of any kind.

I will say that Blubrry does have some documentation on migrating from PodPress to Blubrry that might ease the transition, so that might be worth an initial look. It’s available at:
    https://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/advanced-tools-and-options/migrating-from-podpress-to-powerpress/

    Perhaps that’ll help?

Be aware that Podpress has significant security vulnerabilities in regards to the flash player.

PowerPress is by far the most popular podcasting plugin nearly 60,000 podcasters use it. It even includes the ability to get podcast statistics and they have an amazing ease of publishing interface.

Is there a way to set up PowerPress like PodPress where there can be several separate mp3s that can be played on individual pages?

The RSS spec only allows for 1 media file per post. You can setup channels and have two media files per post that would result in two rss feeds.. But if you are breaking your audio files into two parts for a single service you may want to rethink that.

The PowerPress team has great support at forum.blubrry.com
