• Hello everyone,

I know this problem of slowness must be a recurrent problem to a lot of people.

I tried for weeks to learn about optimization, read a lot of articles and tutorials, diagnosis with site speed test, desactivating plugin, adding a cache plugin… I think my pictures were too heavy so I put a photo optimizers plugin…
And my site got slower, lost my stats and even got down…
I am really lost and now I am scared to make any changes…
I wonder if it comes from the content, th plugin or just my host.
How can I diagnosis if the problem is external ? (hosting server problem?)

Thank you for reading me and for any help.

PS: I know we are not supposed to offer any pay but as I know it can take time to help me to sort this out. Is it aloud to offer French or Japanese lessons in exchange? ;)))

  • Hi,

I know this can be frustrating. But stay positive; and let’s see if we can’t find a little more information.

Yes, your site is slow. But your site is also fairly simple in terms of pages and media. The site should load fine without the use of caching and optimizing plugins (although they can certainly help in many cases).

I think the issue is something different.

I loaded your site over gtmetrix. Go to the link; enter your website; let it analyze the content. Then, click “Waterfall” from the tabbed content.

Look at the first item. It’s about 9 to 10 seconds of waiting for the response.

    Who is your hosting provider?

    Hello Josh!
Thank you so much for your support…

Fairly simple because I got rid of all the funky widgets newbies tend to put everywhere (like the fun to decorate your first Christmas cake) ??

I also tried Gtmetrix but it is complex to interpret the results. Like a blood test result wihout being a docteur… ??
Oh it seems better today…Usually it is around 20sec

My host is Web Hosting Pad and my site got often server errors but they were very efficient to it back fairly quickly (couple hours).

    Thank you again ??
