• I went to my site to see the white screen of death, after deactivating all plug ins it was this slim stat plugin that crashed my site causing me to not be able to log in. Found an update and updated it and it seems to work now however when it was deactivated, i notice my site was noticeably faster. As in a lot faster…

I’ve given 1 star to get plugin creators attention. Will change later if they reply

Why does your plugin make my site slower? I was liking this plugin and still do but if it slows my site then obviously that’s not good

    Hi @tommydamani,

you would have had our attention even without the 1-star review ?? As you can see, we are quite active on these forums. Apologies for the inconvenience of having your site down for a little while. We test our software as much as we can, however we are a small team, and our requests to the community to join our list of beta testers, believe it or not, have brought ZERO volunteers on board.

On average, Slimstat is a quite stable and robust product. When issues like the one you experienced happen, we are quick to release updates to fix them, as you may have noticed.

As for your question regarding the site being slower, could you please let me know the following:

    1) Is the tracker set in Client or Server mode? If it’s set to work in Server mode, please change it to Client mode, and you should notice good performance improvements, as the tracker in that case is called AFTER the page has been sent to the user

    2) Have you tested the Improve Performance feature in the settings? Do you notice any changes with either value?

    3) How big are your Slimstat data tables? (see Maintenance tab) How many records? Please keep in mind that if you want to increase your website performance, and you have many records stored in your Slimstat tables, you will need to fine-tune your MySQL configuration files and increase the amount of memory allocated to PHP in order for it to work

    4) What version of PHP are you using?

    5) Is Browscap enabled or not? (see Maintenance tab)

    Thank you,
    Jason

PS: I hope you will keep your promise to change your rating, as we really work hard to maintain this plugin FREE OF CHARGE, and strive to offer the best support service to our customers!
