Hey @mtmellen,
Our plugin is not very extensive and we are including a few scripts and styles inside the frontend which are minified.
Another point may be the content which you include in the popup. Suppose, you have an image with a size of 10mb used inside the popup, of course, in this case, it will slow down your website as the image is really large and the loading will take some time. In this case, you need to compress and resize to have a good page speed time.
And, therefore, the popup is not the reason the site slows down, but the image in the popup.
If the issue is not connected to large resources I guess there may be another issue which appeared parallel with our plugin installation.
Could you, please, try to test the page speed with google insights and check which resources are affecting the page speed?
We will be very happy to assist you and solve the issue if there is anything connected to our plugin.
We are looking forward to our cooperation and we will do our best to solve any issue(s) ASAP.
