• So I uninstalled my old B2 weblog and installed WP. I really like WP but it seem like it is alot slower than my old B2 weblog? I dont’ think it’s my host ’cause I can access my old one quickly while wp editing etc. seem to take forever. Anyone have a clue?
    Thanks,
    Mark

  • Which things in particular are slow for you? (ie publishing a post, displaying the main page, etc)

publishing seems slow coz of the pinging…
    data is posted instanteneosly ??

main pages are not effected with pinging…

It just seems that every page is really slow, also, sometimes the format of the page is off…almost like the css didn’t load.

How about a link to the site so we can see this in action?

i would also suggest if you are using a modified index file that you have not messed up much with the internal coding! ??
maybe you added some repetitive codes that are just wasting server time while rendering! just a thought…
this linux is making me nutso ??

Hey guys…thanks for the input…the site is located at https://blog.rizzay.com I didn’t mess with the index file (yet) other than what was required during installation.

Ok….here’s the crazy thing…if i hit the back button, then the forward button the page i’m looking for comes up immediately…. hmmm

If it’s checking weblogs.com for changes that can slow things down.

    Is that an options setting?

back and forward usually gets stuff from the cache. depends.
your page loaded REALLY fast for me. compared to my site (www.chait.net), your page is instantaneous! ??
    -d

    rizzay > sure, have a look at /wp-admin/options.php?option_group_id=3 (use_weblogsping).
