    This plugin is WAY slow.

    I’m currently using it with Elementor so I tried switching to the basic WordPress theme and it still was slow.

    I tried disabling every other plugin but it’s still VERY slow. I keep getting 504 errors when I’m logged in. When I’m not logged in it’s slightly faster but not by much.

    I tried repairing the database tables but it still didn’t help.

    Both the plugin and WordPress install are completely up to date.

    Any thoughts on what can be done to fix this?

  • I have made progress wit this issue. It seems to be directly related to the images for some older listings. I have uploaded all of the images again and renamed for every listing and all are below 150k.

    This definitely has a made a differnce with categories now loading in 5 seconds and the directory loading in 9 seconds. Still slow but much better than before.

    Hi @freddredirl Thanks for sharing your progress.

    The image sizes seem to be a problem for many people.

    Have you tried using something like Pingdom or GTmetrix? All you do is plug in your site’s URL and the tool will spit back how long it takes your site to load. Here’s a list of several things to examine: https://alternativeto.net/software/yahoo-yslow/

    Further to earlier comments on the site slowing down. I have now replaced all the photos for my largest parent categories which have several children. If I tried to list all the entries in the parent category then it was almost impossible to get them to display.

    One by one I updated the categories with new photos until only one child category remained. There was barely any change in the length of time it took to display the parent category listing.

    As soon as the last remaining child category was updated the parent category displayed as expected. Then new images were still larger than the thumbnail size displayed but whatever processing is now going on to show the thumbnail is much more efficient.

    So for me it’s fixed. Hope this helps.
