I just upgraded to the new Yoast SEO 20.1 and I have the free version. Running WordPress 6.1.1. The slug data has disappeared from all of my product pages under the Yoast SEO field. (I am using Woo Commerce.) If I try to enter a slug in the blank spot it does not save it. SEO Titles and MEGA links are still there. Can anyone help?

  • Same problem here…

I’m having the exact same issue. Also using your free version on WordPress 6.1.1. The slug in the SEO section is no longer visible on my WooCommerce product pages since the 20.1 upgrade. It normally sits between the SEO Title and the Meta description.

Due to the slug disappearing, it’s negatively affecting the SEO score for the products from green to yellow. I’ve tried manually entering the slug and the SEO score turns green. When I save it, the slug disappears again, and the SEO score turns yellow.

The slug is still visible on the static WordPress web pages e.g., Home page, Terms & Conditions page, Contact Us page etc. so it only seems to be affecting the WooCommerce product pages.

Can someone please look into this?

    Hello @jpoer456

Thanks for reaching out about your product slug. With Yoast SEO 20.1, WordPress 6.1.1 and WooCommerce 7.3.0, I couldn’t reproduce this; the slug is there, between the SEO title and meta description fields for exisiting producrts and newly created ones.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

@ajgar28584 We are sorry you’re having the same issue. Please open a new request. That way, it’s easier to track issues and provide assistance. Thanks!

Yes, the slug field is there, but it has no content. The slug field itself isn’t missing.

I am using the ShopIsle theme.

The slug information is gone on every product page. The slug is normally populated by the perma link. If I try to type in a slug it won’t save it. Nothing is wrong with plugins and all up to date.

Yes, these are the same versions I am using: With Yoast SEO 20.1, WordPress 6.1.1 and WooCommerce 7.3.0

Thanks for providing more clarification, @jpoer456. We’re investigating an issue where the slug is not shown when using classic editor for Jetpack-connected users. Do you have any of Classic Editor and Jetpack 11.8 installed?

    Thread Starter jpoer456

    (@jpoer456)

Yes, I have both. I am using Classic Editor 1.6.2 and Jetpack 11.8. Both are free use versions. Thank you. I am still unable to correct the slug problem.

Same problem. Classic Editor + Yoast SEO + Jetpack no slug generated on wordpress blog posts.

My slugs on my wordpress/woocommerce site are showing up on the quick edit screen but not on the individual product pages.
