slugs formatting/naming

    what is best practice for naming slugs:

    a) using [default language slug]-[translation language (de, ru, el, pt etc], or
    b) using a straight translated word of the original default slug in the diverse languages?

    Does it make any difference in functionality, if the slug is for a page, post, category etc for using either of the above methods?

    Both are possible. For categories and post tags, if the name is the same in two languages, Polylang will automatically add the language code to the slug (That’s not automatic for posts and pages)

    OK, fine

    As I understand the slug doesn’t play any role in connecting default object with translated (you never know…)
