Smart Docs as the Homepage

Trying to find a way to set the document archive page as the homepage. Tried to set the homepage in WordPress options (Settings > Reading > Homepage = docs) but that doesn’t work. Entire website is dedicated and used as a knowledge base, so having the homepage be the document archive (with list of categories and articles) is preferred.
