Smart layer do not show up (Recommended content)

Hi Franklin.

It looks like you have a tool (the sharing sidebar) enabled for that profile ID on addthis.com. With any tools enabled on addthis.com, any of the configurations you add to the smart layers plugin within WordPress will be ignored.

You have two options:

1. Configure all your tools via addthis.com (you can add recommended content from there).

2. Disabled your tools on addthis.com and configure via the smart layers plugin (I believe this plugin lets you add the sharing sidebar from within WordPress).

Also worth noting: it can take us up to 24 hours after you add AddThis to your site before we’ve indexed your content to make recommended content suggestions. If you just added us recently, you might not see any recommended content yet. Also, we won’t recommend content that we think you’ve looked at before, so as the site admin who may have already been on many (or all) of the pages on your site, you might not see the most relevant (or any) recommended content suggestions. Opening the site in an incognito tabs will get you around the later.

I have question to add to this. I want to test recommended content on our DEV server first since I want to see how and how much it displays in various scenarios in the sidebar. From what I see above though, unless your spider has the ability to index the content…which of course it can’t on the dev server….then nothing will show up. Meaning I can’t test it on the dev server, is that correct?

Assuming so, is there anyway to force it to display rec. content for testing purposes?
