    Hi, how do you know that a setting is blocking the script? Can you provide more information please.

    If I remove all of the entries in the .htaccess except the standard wordpress ones, I can make the database connection.

    Okay, start by disabling all the Firewall and Brute Force features. See if that helps you. If it does then you know the problem lies with one or more of these settings. Start by enabling one by one until you come across the culprit.
