    Hi Complianz Team,

    great peace of software! But…
Complianz not working together with Smash Balloon Custom Facebook Feed Plugin together with other Elements that must be be blocked on the same site:
I placed FB Feeds in the end of my homepage with Siteorigin pagebuilder.
Bevor that some YT videos and Spotify content is placed and should be blocked on the first visit of the site.
Everything works fine with Facebook Feed Plugin beeing deaktivated. But when enabling it these elements are not blocked by Complianz.
Smash Balloon Custom Facebook Feed GDPR configuration “Auto” or “YES” blocks FB content as expected.
Seems to be a strange issue…

    Any solution?
    Thanks
    Koepi

    Hi @koepi,

As a first check, could you check if both Facebook as a service, and Smash Balloon as a plugin are enabled under integrations, and in Smash Balloon Complianz is recognized?

If Smash Balloon recognized Complianz, you should be able to disable our integration with Smash Balloon and check if this works.

If that doesn’t work, could share your URL so I can see what’s going on?

    regards Aert

    Hi Aert,
    thanks for your reply.

    My check:
    FB as a service: enabled
Smash Ballon Plugin: is not listed/recognized within Complianz
Complianz within Smash Ballon: recognized and set to “Automatic”

Update of the described bahavior: When placing another Element to be blocked (eg. YT) AFTER Smash Ballon FB Feeds blocking works!

Meanwhile found another issue already described in that post: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/smash-balloon-facebook-feed-not-remembering-choice/

    Hi @koepi,

I reproduced the issue on a local environment. We are still investigating what causes this, so I hope to be able to provide an update soon.

    Hi @koepi,

Thank you for your patience while we looked into this.

We have created an adapted version of the plugin to address the issue with the Facebook Feed by Smash Balloon. Please find the download link here: https://we.tl/t-ScsqxzQ3iB

I’m curious to hear about your findings. Just let me know!

    Kind regards,

    Hi Jarno,

    thanks for your reply.

Okay, the main issue seems to be gone now: all elements on page with Smash Baloon FB Feeds are blocked now.

But when consent to all cookie is given there now there is a new margin after bottom of the consent-relevant elements.
    Found that:
    <div class=”separated-item-2 col-md-12 first-col last-row last-col” style=”overflow: visible; height: auto; min-height: 5283px;”>

min-height seems to be calculated wrong.

When disabling Complianz issue is gone.
When refusing consent to marketing cookies issue is gone also.

But nevertheless these issue is still alive:
FB Feed Content is blocked with setting “Automatic” in Smash Ballon.

    Maybe you’ll find a solution…

    Hi @koepi,

We would gladly have a look at the site in question, if you provide a URL. That would allow us to investigate further as to the added ‘min-height’.

As for FB Feed content, this seems to work on my testing setup when I set the FB Feed plugin’s GDPR setting to Automatic. You can check this on the attached screenshots: before consent and after consent.

Prior to consent there are no resources loaded from the Facebook CDN, after giving consent using the Complianz banner it loads the external resources from Facebook CDN.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi Jarno,

please find the issues here: dadaraa.de

Yes, Ballon loads FB content after giving consent. But, only ONCE! After refreshing the page, content is blocked again.
    Settings:
    Smash Ballon: Automatic
Complianz: Fb blocked with placeholder (but SB plugin not found by Complianz itself)

    Thanks and best regards

    Hi @koepi,

This issue is caused due the way the FB Feed integration with Complianz works at this moment, resulting in the consent status not being maintained when the page is refreshed.

We are in contact with the Smash Balloon team to ensure a robust integration after the release of Complianz 6.0 (which will add several new functions that third-party developers can use to check if there is consent).

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @koepi,

Just as a quick update, this has been addressed in version 4.0.1 of the Smash Balloon FB Feed plugin. After updating, this should work out-of-the-box.

    Hope it helps.
    Kind regards,
    Jarno
