Smiley Face on page but gallery and header won't load

  • Hi there I have a vacation rental site with numerous next gen galleries all of which work fine except on one page I have 5 separate galleries with about 150(ish) images total.

    The page worked fine for months and then all of a sudden it would no longer load… the header would not load and the page itself was pure white with a tiny little happy face on it…

    I tired copy and pasting the gallery to a new page which did not help. I tired ever conceivable combination of removing, recreating, reorganizing galleries to no avail…

    Eventually I came to the conclusion there were too many images total on the page as when a I delete some out of the galleries it worked.

    However a few days later it started not loading again… now if I clear the image cache out of the options menu in next gen it will work again however I have to do this every 2-3 days and it is a pain…

    I searched all over online but have not seen any other similar problems… anyone else have success fixing such an issue???

    Any help would be greatly appreciated…

    – WordPress up to date? Yes
    – NextGEN up to date? Yes
    – What version of NextGEN Gallery did you upgrade from? (i.e. I had 1.9.8, then upgraded to 1.9.12)… I installed the latest version

    (please confirm the following, with your server host tech) :
    – MySQL up to date (at least 5.2.4)? Yes
    – PHP up to date (at least 5.0)? Yes
    – The mod_rewrite Apache module activated? not sure
    – PHP Safe Mode OFF? not sure

    Additional information that will help us find a solution:
    – Who are you hosted with? Host Gator
    – What theme are you running? Custom
    – Which plugins do you have installed and activated? As mentioned I have many other galleries on different pages on the same site that all work fine with no issues…
    – Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to the WP default, and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (*be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating)
