    Hi

I’ve noticed the Emoji function isn’t working on mobile. The icon is there but if I click on it nothing happens. It works on desktop. Any ideas how to fix this? I’ve linked to my site so you can see the problem.

    Thanks

    Hello @sdesign-1

Sorry, I can not replicate this issue on our side. The emojis on mobile is working fine. Please do these steps:

    – Make sure you are using the most updated versions of Youzify, WordPress & your theme.
    – Deactivate all of your plugins. If this solves the problem, gradually activate your plugins one by one, until you spot the problematic plugin.
    – If you have a caching plugin, make sure you deactivate it, or even better – purge the cache.
    – Change your WordPress theme to WordPress TwentySeventeen (or other default WordPress theme).

Let me know the results ??

    Best Regards, KaineLabs Team.

Hi, I tried deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and Youzify, changed to TwentyTwenty. I don’t have any caching active. The problem still exists. Any other ideas?

Tested on iPhone 13 and iPad, neither open the Emoji selection when clicking on the smiley.

    Thanks

    Hi @sdesign-1

May I know, do you test it on iPhone or Android Phone?

    Hi @sdesign-1

May I know what PHP version you are using on your server now?

Hi, on further investigation the Emoji seems to be working (on all PHP versions). The problem seems to be that it is very difficult to click the smiley icon in the right place. The clickable area is extremely small on mobile. I found that if I zoom right in I am able to click the link to open the smiley dialogue, but without zooming in it is almost impossible. Is there a way to increase the clickable area with some css? Thanks

    Hi @sdesign-1

That’s really weird because it’s normal on our side. We also test it on iPhone and the Emoji size button is fair enough to be clicked. Have you tried with Android?

That’s strange, are you using Safari?

I have to tap about 20 times before I manage to hit the right spot. Once it opens the Emoji selector I can then open and close it easily. My daughter tried on her iPhone 12 and she had the same problem. My wife tried too. So it’s happening here on multiple devices, both iPhone and iPad.

I’ve just used some CSS to hide it on mobile. It’s not really needed on those devices anyway. So I’ve just kept it on desktop.
