Smiley's/Emojis not appearing in comments

  • Hi,
    My blog URL is https://www.happyandharried.com/
    I migrated from a WordPress.com to this site last month. I find that smilies/emojis are not appearing in my comments section. They appear as a set of question marks (?????). Such is the case with many older imported comments as well. Do I need to install some plugin for it to work properly?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,

    I had a look at an old entry from 2013 and smileys appears to be functioning as intended, did you get this sorted, or could you alternatively link to a post where you are currently observing the issue?

    Search for comments from ‘Sonal’, ‘milkandbun’ and myself (Anjana).
    A set of ???? appears in what is clearly intended to be smilies of some kind

    I’ve noticed that some comments show graphics while some don’t.

    Hi,

    I had a quick look and I’m seeing a smiley in the comment section, could you share what browser you are using, and are you using any extensions with it? (by the way, that food looks delicious!)

    How did you eventually fix this? I have the same issue.
