• It appears that smilies are not working anymore in the latest version of WP (2.9.1). I use WP-Grins and now WP-Monalisa, but also tried WordPress Smilies, and what happens is, that when writing a comment, clicking a smiley takes you to the top of the page, instead of inserting it in the comment area.

    Strange. Any ideas how to solve this?

  • Yep. I’ve been puling my hair out at this as well.

    I’ve edited the functions.php file added the new added smilies code
    ‘:Noway:’ => ‘banghead-1.gif’,
    ‘:grin:’ => ‘biggrin-1.gif’,
    ‘:bitch:’ => ‘bitch.gif’,
    ‘:fight:’ => ‘bitchfight.gif’,
    ‘:notlistening:’ => ‘blah.gif’,
    put the new smilies in the /wp-includes/images/smilies

    Nothing!!!! I’ve even tried editing the smilies themer created my own folder, added the smilies to the folder….NOTHING!!!

    The codes don’t work when you type them into a post. I’ve run out of ideas.

    Help!

    Are we the only two people having this problem? Surely not!

    I’m having the same problem, but only with Google Chrome browser.
    The Smilies Themer and Toolbar work fine with IE and Firefox, but visitors who use Chrome can’t insert smilies in their comments.

    Did anyone by now found out what is wrong?
