• I recently finally got around to adding my own custom smilies (credit: https://paddling-geek.net) and where my comments are located, I dont want them to go straight across the pop up for my comments … I would prefer to have them say in rows of 10, rather than having like 26 of them in the first line, and then automatically underneath it starts the new line with the last 7.
Also my other question is, I want to know if I could have one set of smilies/icons for when I am writing up a new journal entry, and another set to show up of just basic smilies for the comments …. Is that possible, because I have lots of icons and I dont want them all to be shown in the comments field … Can this be done? Please tell me how!

  • no need for double posting ??

I thought I would post in two differnt sections, because this question falls under both, hacks & plugs, and Misc.
So now can you help me with my questions?

Can’t see how this can be done….
It’s easy enough to add a new set of smilies – by altering the data in ‘vars.php’ (described here: https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/smilies/) – and you don’t have to display any smilies in the comments area, but if you want to show them, I can’t see how you can split the basic stuff from what you want to be able to use.
    Are you using wp_grins ?

Yeah I am using wp_grins. It would be cool to have that implemented into a hack or plug in or something.
I have lots of smilies that I just dont want them availble in my comments, though I want just some basics ones shown (basic smilies) while the rest of them (smilies, weather, seasonal images etc) to be shown in the post section.
Humm, anyone want to try and tackle this?

It has been done by Jenn of kiss-my-kitty.com. If this tutorial of hers doesn’t solve it (https://www.kiss-my-kitty.com/tutorials/wp_commentsmilies.php), you’re probably better off emailing her and asking.
