    Does anyone know of a hack or plugin that will do the following?

    A user comes to a site and wishes to be updated (We will say weekly) VIA SMS Text Messaging. The user enters their 10 digit phone number. The number is then added to a database. Each week an update will be sent via text about what is new on the site etc.

    I want a way for users to enter their phone number and then be able to instantly send them a text (customized each time) with a weekly update.

    Does anyone know of a hack like this?

    Since I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in this functionality, new features will only be added when they’re requested. Feel free to start a thread under the plugin or email me through the contact form on my website with any changes you think should be make or new features/functionality you want.

    I would be very happy if someone would just tell me how to remove the two commercial links from the author of this otherwise great plugin from below the widget. It’s an SEO issue and I would like to use the widget without the links.

    I know this post is hella old n all, but I know of a free service that only requires a phone number….

    just send an email to [email protected] and you will receive a txt message. So when you ask users for their mobile number, you just strip out non numerical chars, then attach “@teleflip.com” at the end.

    Simple. Effective. Awesome.
