Hello, when I apply branda’s SMTP settings, it is applied to the entire network including the main site. So is there a way to set this configuration only for subsites? So is it possible to use a different SMTP configuration for the main site?

Also, SMTP mails sent to other email addresses from subsites are sent from [email protected] and all email replies come to [email protected] mail address. It would be great to apply the subsites’ admin email address for the reply address. This is a really big problem. Because only subsite admins should see the email replies.

    Hi @thecreator01

I hope you are doing well today.

The first thing to check and enable is Network -> Branda -> Settings -> Permissions -> Subsite Controls. Ref.: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/branda/#subsite-controls

With that you will allow subsite admins to control specific modules. As soon this is done, those admins will be able to set up different “SMTP” settings and different “From Headers” settings. Ref.: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/branda/#from-headers / https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/branda/#smtp

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

Hello, thank you very much for your help. @wpmudevsupport13

Actually I want to apply a default SMTP configuration for subsites from the network administrator. So I don’t want to allow subsite users to change and manage this.

But I also plan to use a different SMTP configuration for the main site. If I install another external SMTP plugin it will probably cause a conflict.

Is there a way to do this?

    Hi @thecreator01

Hope this message finds you well.

Currently, Branda >> Email >> SMTP doesn’t have such capabilities. It does not have a default SMTP feature for subsites and another for the main site and all this be handled at the Network level.

If you don’t want other users access to Branda configuration this could be achieved at Branda >> Settings >> Permissions, just allow access to the Network Administrator which is the Super Admin users only:

This way you can enable STMP in subsites and use the same configuration on them, and a different in the main site.

But I also plan to use a different SMTP configuration for the main site. If I install another external SMTP plugin it will probably cause a conflict.

Yes, this might cause a conflict, but as far as we know other SMTP plugins do work in a similar way as our Branda, the SMTP used for the main site or set at the Network level will be overwritten only from the subsite configuration.

Let us know if you require additional information.

    Best regards,
    Laura
