I know this has been mentioned previously, but even after receiving the correct SMTP settings from GoDaddy, I still receive the same SMTP connect() failed error when I try to send an email test. I’ve got smtp.office365.com as the SMTP Host, Port 587, SMTP Authentication on, TLS Encryption. All which GoDaddy recommended. So why isn’t it still sending?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi, did you enter the correct smtp username and password?

    Yes.

Thank you. Just for testing purposes do you have a gmail, yahoo or hotmail account? If you do I would like you to carry out a test to these servers if possible. I am just trying to work out if it is a smtp.office365.com issue or not.

Sorry, got caught up in other projects. But I do have a GMail account. So I tried that. On two different accounts on two different hosts (HostGator and WPEngine) and received the same exact error. Tried both TLS and SSL ports as well. Nothing.

I’m turning off the plugin until I get this to work.

Hi, for your Gmail account test did you enter the following settings?

    1. SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
    2. Type of Encryption: TLS
    3. SMTP Port: 587
