• Hi,

we are a small online magazine and thinking of sending out our newsletter (about 600 subscribers) through Mailpoet. I am testing out the options at the moment. Sending the newsletter through php mail works – but we want to try out the smtp function.

I get the following error message when trying to send newsletters through smtp:

Fehler beim Senden der NachrichtSMTP funktioniert mit MailPoet an [email protected] | SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. |
Warning: fsockopen(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /xxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/wysija-newsletters/inc/phpmailer/class.smtp.php on line 123

Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to smtp.yyyyy.de :25 (php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known) in /xxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/wysija-newsletters/inc/phpmailer/class.smtp.php on line 123

    (edited for anonymity)

Is there something I did wrong? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Best
