SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.

Hello,
I have set up the Fluent SMTP plugin for “ther smtp”, and I have added the requested information.
When I try to send a test email, I get this alert: “SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.”
I have triple checked all setting.
I have enabled 2 factor authentication for my email provider, but I am not being asked to enter those details when I set up Fluent SMTP. Could this be the cause of the problem? That I need to somehow use my 2FA app to authenticate?
