    Hi,

I do not know what are the settings for “smtp user” and “smtp password user”.
I thought it was “my gmail adress” and “my gmail adress password”.
But it does not work and I can’t send mails.

Can you please explain me precisely the login authentification and how I can get the elements so that I can succeed in sending mails ?
    Thank you very much.

@marie999, Your Gmail address is [email protected]. You just need to enter the username.

    Hello Noor,

    Thank you for your answer.

But what about the “smtp password user” ?
Have I got to use :

    – my gmail password ?
    – my Worpdress admin password ?

Because when I fill SMTP Mailer with my Worpdress admin password, I can’t log anymore and the admin password is changed into “Safari auto refill”.

So which password should I use for SMTP Mailer ?
Thank you and have a nice Sunday.

    Hello again Noor,

I set : [email protected] and the password of this gmail account and this is what I get :
    2021-07-04 14:45:10 SERVER -> CLIENT: 535-5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. Learn more at535 5.7.8 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials z12sm7312358wrs.39 – gsmtp

I don’t understand for in the documentation, “smtp username” is just the beginning of the adress mail without gmail.com, you can see it there : https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/smtp-mailer/

To you, what’s the problem ? Can you help me please ?

Then, can I leave blank “sender mail adress” and “sender name” ?
    Thank you

    Hi,

I’m OK with the settings and apparently my test mails are beeing sent. But I’ve got a problem : I put another adress gmail in recipient field but when I receive the mail, I’ve got twice sender adress mail (for sender and for recipient). How can I fix this ?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi,

As I said formerly, test emails are sent from my gmail adress to the same gmail adress. How can I change to have the proper customer sender adress ? What is the correct setting ?

    Thank you
