SMTP on WP3 gone kaput

  • I upgraded my website to WP 3 from WP 2.9.2. Ever since, none of my mails are being sent from the website. I use Google Apps and I was using a plugin called WP-Mail-SMTP. That doesnt seem to be working anymore with WP 3.

    I now tried plugins called “Configure SMTP” and “Cimy Swift SMTP”.
    None of those plugins seem to be working with WP 3.

    Any suggestions? I badly need mails to be working as no passwords are being sent to my newly registered users.

    huh? nobody else has issues with this?

    I have used smtp on several 2.9 sites and had no problem. I get the smtp host and port form my cpanel and away I go.

    But i was trying with a new wp3 install on a new server and I started having crazy amounts of output errors…
    I figured it must be me getting the settings wrong… then I tried ignoring the smtp host and port field and allowing it to default to localhost and it worked. how strange that leaving those two fields BLANK actually fixed it.
    maybe try this?
