You can start optimizing images from Smush > Dashboard > Bulk Smush. Optionally you may choose in the setting what image size you wish to compress, All or Custom tab as shown in the screenshot:

You may enable the “Strip my image metadata” option, which will remove EXIF from all images, reducing images size.
If you have No lazy loading enabled on your site, consider enabling this option from Smush > Dashboard > Lazy Load, for better site performance.

Please have a site’s backup before running the optimization, so you could restore images back, if you will not be satisfied.
