    Hello,

I’m having a problem with the Smush free version where the dashboard says I have 203 images that needs to be smush. However, after clicking the Bulk Smush button, it says all the images are smushed after 2-4mins, but when I reload it back, the 203 image attachments are showing again. It like a loop of bulk smushing.

Any recommendations on how to fix this?

    Thanks!

    Hi @jasperski

    I hope you’re well today!

First, please make sure that you are not using other similar image optimization plugin/tool at the same time. Some performance optimization plugins and tools have similar image optimization features built-in and if they are all active at the same time it may lead to issues.

Second, please make sure also that images aren’t actually either “offloaded” to some external storage (unless they are offloaded to S3-copatible storage with WP Offload Media plugin) or CDN (CloudFlare CDN doesn’t count).

Finally, check also about any server-side cache or on-site cache that is set to cache admin area. Clear all such caches and check again.

If the issue is still happening, please let us know here.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

I’m using WP optimize for the caching of the site and purged all the caches already. WP Optimize has a feature of image compression, does it affect the Smush plugin?

I already tested the smush plugin to an old site(for testing purposes) where there’s no caching plugin involved, and still the issue still persists.

    Hi @jasperski

WP Optimize has a feature of image compression, does it affect the Smush plugin?

It can affect if both modules are enabled, we always suggest using only one tool for specific tasks.

Do you have any Object Caching on your server?

If so, can you try to flush the Object caching too and check if makes any difference?

Let us know the result you got.

    Hello Patrick,

I’ve already disabled the Image Compression in WP Optimize and there’s no Object caching installed in the server I’m using right now.

But still, the issue in Smush is existing.

    Hi @jasperski,

But still, the issue in Smush is existing.

Another possibility for such an issue to occur is due to a conflict. Could you please check whether you could replicate the same issue when you keep all the plugins deactivated temporarily except Smush and with a default WP theme to see whether you get the same issue or not?

This would help in ruling out what exactly is causing the issue. Please do let us know how that goes.

Looking forward to your response. Have a nice day ahead.

    Best Regards,
    Nithin
