I have uploaded several photos to the media library. When I click on any of them, Smush is showing: Not processed. Also, when I try to upload only one special photo, I get the follwing error: “The server cannot process the image. This can happen if the server is busy or does not have enough resources to complete the task. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2560 pixels“. This particular photo I bought from Shutterstock and it is the same as all other photos, and I even made it smaller by cropping it. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi @ksoussou

    I hope you’re well today!

The “not processed” status may be result of that resource error but usually in case of error image would rather be marked as processing failed. But let’s first check a few things:

    1. please go to “Smush -> Bulk Smush” page and see if you have “Automatically compress my images on upload” option enabled (if it’s disabled, no image would be optimized when uploaded and it would require manually running smushing)

    2. on th every same page try running “Bulk Smush” and see what happens – does it process all images from there or is it getting stuck at some point and/or displaying some warnings/errors (if so, what are those)?

    3. please check in your server’s error log (if you do not have access to it, reach out to your host support for that, they should be able to help) if there are any errors/warnings logged around the time when you tried to process the photo that failed with the resources error – let us know if and if so what errors are logged on server level.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Thank you for your support.

I’ve tried to upload in bulk, which was successful with two photos but then when I go Smuch’s dashboard, it keeps telling me that “No file data found in image meta. We recommend regenerating the thumbnails” or no data found in the library, which is untrue. I also tried the browser upload, which was even worse as nothing happened. I also couldn’t find “Automatically compress my images on upload” so that I can enable it. Very disappointing plugin and don’t understand its behaviour.

Are you able to upload those images to Google Drive and share a link in your next reply so we can test this image in our lab?

I think I’ve found the reason, which is that photo is too big. I have redownloaded it from Stockshutter in a smaller size, and it works.

Thank you very much for your support.
