We manage a few client sites and these sites would experience a weekly downtime event for around 2 minutes due to “Read timeout”. This has been an ongoing issue over the last few months but I found that when I disabled the Smush plugin, the downtime events would not occur. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

  • I used to have issues caused by the plugin so only activate it once a week and smush the latest images, then deactivate the plugin until the following week.

    Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that Smush is causing such issues, but I must say that I haven’t encountered it before.
Does this always happen at the same time during the week?
Is there any further information on the server or debug logs that would give a bit more information on what happened?

Could you give me more information about your setup, which WP and PHP version are you using on your sites?
Are all the sites hosted with the same hosting company?

    Cheers,
    Predrag
