    Hi @kozzmen,

    Thank you for your question.

    The smush.it isn’t compatible with CDN’s such as cloudflare, Amazon S3, Max CDN etc. Sorry about this.

    Please advise if you have more questions.

    You will also find more information about it on the following page.

    Hi @wpmu team!

    Thanks for your prompt replay.
    I will give it a try now on a new site, without CDN.

    Let’s see if there will be any result in the page speed tool.

    Best!

    You are most welcome, if I can be of any further assistance please don’t hesitate to ask ??

    How is WP Smush.it incompatible with CDNs like Max CDN? The CDN works by fetching images from the local /wp-content/ – the initial copy is still uploaded there.

    Wouldn’t that mean the file is optimised as usual and the CDN just grabs the optimised copy?

    @pixeldynamo,

    Normally we tell users that Smush.it is not comparable with CDNs mainly because of how they work or how they are configured.

    The Smush.it plugin can really only work against the local files on the site. This works great for new images uploaded to the site before they are pushed to the CDN. But installing the plugin and expecting the images on the CDN to be processed by Smush.it is not something we can control.

    There are some CDN plugins that will resend or resync the local file changes to the CDN repo. For these Smush.it is comparable. But others once the file has been pushed there are no updates. So smushing the local files really does no good.
