Did you review MailChimp’s privacy policy when you signed up: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/

it is nothing to do with mailchimp, it is the writer of this plugin who signs you up when you enter the settings in the plugin, they sign you up to their website contactus.com

Dis you check https://contactus.com/terms-of-service.php and https://contactus.com/privacy-policy.php ?

no should i when i install a plugin, sorry but that i dont agree with, this should be made very clear on the first page on the installed plugin

it is illegal in europe what they are doing without permission, when filling in and submitting they need to ask if you are sure and aware you are being signed up for a service outside of the current website

Thank you so much for your feed back! – As soon as we release our new version, you will see how your suggestion has been part of the plugin improvements for version 3.0 – To address it, we will put explicit links to ContactUs.com’s terms of service and privacy policy from the plugin. They are clear on the contactus.com website, which is where most of the signups are coming from. We will also add an extra installation step to make sure users understand an account for ContactUs.com will be automatically created for them. As soon as we release the new version, we would like you to try it and tell us what you think.

So users understand the service, ContactUs.com serves as a gateway for signups to be posted on you’re your MailChimp mailing list. ContactUs.com provides you additional web analytics (source of the form submission, web analytics) and basic CRM tools to help you manage new customers –so its more than just a form. (These features are described in the plugin description.)

We want to be 100% clear. We do not spam or sell people’s information in any way. If you delete your account or unsubscribe from our emails, you never hear from us again. ??

This plugin is what I was looking for in a better signup form for Mailchimp. But since you guys had to be called out before acknowledging that you’re adding people to your own list, forget it!
