• HI.
    about our website:
    theme : WoodMart
more than 30 plugin installed on it.
    db size : 300 MB
    problem :
as you can see , our ttfb is more than 10 seconds!
I know that you cant solve the problem unless I provide the User name and Password to host and my wordpress ( which you know is not possible for me)
    but,
At first I thougt the problem is for my PLUGINS! so I disabled them all , it improved but , problem didnt solve!
then I thought it might be for my DB. So I’ve bought a VPS , I installed the wordpress on the VPS ( windows server / 4 core CPU) then I tried “localhost” to check if problem is solved or not but problem was not solved.
i disabled all plugins, I tried to clean the DataBase as much as I could. ( i admit, I have large tables)
the ttfb from 10 seconds comes to 3 seconds but: its LOCALHOST!!! this should not be this much!
I deleted every thing, so I had just my wordpress (not a fresh one) on the host,
then ttfb was 400ms! but is still High! it should be less than 100ms.

so I need your help. please tell me that where is the point that i havent checked yet ? how can I search for the problem?
I even tried a plugin to restrict load of other plugins in my pages. but nothing changed!
I dont know what more can i check and how can I find the problem!
the ttfb is high! but why? how can I find the problem?
    thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • An enormous number of factors play a role in the loading time of a website. You have already mentioned some, but not everything.

First of all: in my experience, a Windows host is always “somewhat” slower than a Linux host. My recommendation would be to initially do without Windows as a host unless you have a professional who can look after it for you and optimise it for you. Any hosting package for WordPress should be faster.

Another factor is the hard disk. Modern hostings usually use systems optimised for speed. With a local VPS, this could be a brake in comparison.

What is also important is the PHP version used. Which one do you use? WordPress is currently best used with PHP 7.4. You can also try PHP 8.0, but WordPress’ support for this is considered “beta” and many plugins do not yet support it – everyone has to decide individually. However, PHP 8.0 speeds up the output considerably.

The database system is also relevant. In my experience, MariaDB newer than 10.3 is pretty good. However, given the small size of your database, I think this is a negligible factor.

Furthermore, the web hosting service also plays a role: Apache is usually slower than nginx.

So if the actual web hosting is sluggish, contact the hoster itself. They should be able to provide you with optimised parameters (hard disk, PHP, MySQL …) for your WordPress project.

Only when you have checked the above should you think about WordPress itself. There are optimisation plug-ins for WordPress such as WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache. These have to be individually adapted to the project. In the end, they can still get a lot out of it, but they can’t improve bad hosting.

Hi . thanks for your answer.
I changed the location of website to a shared linux hosting.
this is the new domain for my tests: karbamasemnan.ir

as you can see , i have disabled all the plugins! but still have the issue.
if you want i can change theme for you to check.

For me, the speed is much better right now. A response time of 220ms is better than most other websites. However, it is now suffering from several errors in the JavaScript console and the theme itself.

Since you are using a commercial theme, you would have to contact its support. Commercial products are not supported in this forum. The support for the theme can be found here: https://themeforest.net/item/woodmart-woocommerce-wordpress-theme/20264492/support
