• Each time I upload am image I get 20 duplicates for all sorts of screen sizes. I only use a few of these and the rest are useless to me. Taking up space and taking up the number of files that I’m allowed on my web host provider.

Is there a way to limit this? Or am I forced to go into the web host via FTP and delete all the useless(to me) resizes?

  • Yes! Me too! This is slowing down my site, since I am developing an image-heavy site. Bummer, since this is such a great plugin.

    Thanks for the confirmation Paul

Please, if the developer reads this, I think it would go a long way to have a setting page where we get to choose which size pictures we want to create when uploading a photo.

This is by far my favorite gallery application because it is so simple and integrated into WordPress so well.

I will pay a developer for a custom code/update to this plugin if I have this feature included. I just think it would go a long way to have it added into the core plugin.

I would hate to pay a 3rd party developer to hack into it but I will if I must. Thank you for the great plugin, I hope I can continue using it in the future

The duplicated images thing is not limited to this plugin. I do not have it but I still have thousands of duplicates. This is a problem within WP itself and incredibly irritating. What’s worse is plugins like DNUI are not removing the extras.

I need to find a way to bulk delete the unused ones, or it’ll ake me forever to go through and wipe them all! WP also needs to stop creating all these duplicates unless you tell it to. I don’t need 10 copies of each photo which is what it seems like I have!

You’re right, it’s not just this plugin but this plugin does add to it.

Base WordPress does like 4 duplicates of photos. This plugin adds 10 or so more duplicates of different sizes to it and then my theme is adding another 5 or so more.

I have found that changing the resolution/pixel limits(in both wordpress and this plugin’s settings) to 0 then it will not create a duplicate for that intended file size.

I’ve been able to reduce the 19 duplicates for each upload that I do and bring them down to 8. Still not ideal but it’s a start

    Guess the developer is MIA….

This is really affecting my sites. What a shame! Such a good plugin, otherwise.
