Hi, I’m getting so many hits on /wp-cron.php by the same IP. Method is POST and RESPONSE is 200 (Statuse: allowed). It turned out the IP was my own. But it is hitting the php even when I’m asleep or not on wordpress and it’s a lot. I don’t have any scheduled event on WordPress or anything. Is there any explanation to this?

There are many reasons for wp-cron to trigger. This does not have you to be logged in. Various plugins can setup cron events at different frequencies.

Unless you are seeing your site slowing down because of this, we would not worry much about this.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

After I set up Cloudflare firewall, it started catching the hits and Malcare stopped receiving hits. (I disabled wp-cron.php and enabled hourly.) Also, looking at the ASNs that were hitting my sites seem to be coming from outside. In the future, I’d like to see ASN of the source of hits and blocking those in Malcare if possible.

Also, Malcare’s daily scan stopped performing (last scanned three days ago) and doesn’t even seem to be recognizing my logins as well. How can I fix this??

    Thanks in advance!
