So WFT happened with YouTube Embed?

I’ve been using the YouTube embed coding for the past couple of months to add videos to my blogs and everything has been working just fine. All of a sudden when I paste the embed code into a blog, a lot of code gets stripped out when the blog is saved and the YouTube video won’t even display. The blogs with existing embed coding still work if I don’t edit them. However, once I edit and save them the same problem occurs. I had to do an emergency workaround using the youtubebrackets plugin. Was there any notification of this change? I thought I was working with a stable product, but apparently not.
